hello?

Main reason: To be 5 people who share 1 interest. The interest? This journal. Every one of us, we're different. A good sort of different. We have our own beat and we dance to it in our own way. With our differences, we're misfits that fit :D We might be speaking about complications of the heart, the journey of growing up, some fabulous topics (sometimes), being individuals in a sea of clones and any topic we can think of in the future. So here we are: The Traveling Journal. Please like us! We're very likable ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AFZ:

I'd bite you if I had the chance

Friday, January 30, 2009

you are so dead

You gals are so unlucky because my brain is inordinately filled with ideas right after I listened to Scouting For Girls' She's So Lovely. Miahahaha.
Hello, today is Friday and it is my day :)

Anyway, in that brown envelope which says "Open Me" contains 7 pieces of folded paper which holds challenges for you gals. At first I was actually thinking of mailing the envelope to you gals by turn but because I'd rather save money, I'll just get you gals to do what I have in mind:

Every third week of the month, you shall post on your posting days the number which you want to do. On the Friday of that week, I shall reveal its contents and you must do the challenge of the number which you have picked (if that makes any sense anyway). But, here's a bonus. You can choose whether or not to do it. See. I do have a kind heart after all (PERASAN GILA!).

So, there you go. That is all I have to say for this Friday.
Oh, wait. NO THAT'S NOT IT.

I freaking need new bands in my mp3. I know you gals have a superb taste in music, unlike me who listens to a mixture of acoustics, post-rock and-on occasion-pop rock. Yeah. I think I need some happy tunes you know because mine are tad slow and as my dad noted to my brother "too jiwang". So, if you could, can you just drop a few suggestions in the comments or just email the list to me. Merci beacoup! Je l'aimeeeee♥

Cheers, Khadijah.

Head locks like dreadlocks.

Good morning. Selamat pagi. Guten morgen. Bonne matineé

Ever had those times when everything seems to cram in your head? And for once, you couldn't even think. I mean, think about anything at all. And the world seems like it's going to eat you up alive and you have no where to go. No doors available nor windows or fire exits?

I feel like eating myself up alive now.

Happy late CNY to all the readers. I apologize for the missed post. Bite me if you like, I don't mind. I've been having a lot of technical problems lately. It is sad enough. I'll try my best not to miss anymore next time. Back to unfinished homeworks. They are piling up too fast. I feel so lazy nowadays.

♥ Aisyah.

Photos invasion:

Girls,

Random picture alert!

My semi-not-so-horrible room. It's almost done. Painted and furniture-d(?). IKEA blessed. But still need to be organized. Parappapapa, I'm lovin' it.

Meet me brother.

Just so you know, me ladies, I am not in maintainable mood/emotion. I careless. I dreamed. I freaked. I got lots going on in my mind. Projects need to be done. Homework and tutoring to go to. Sleeping due. Shipping me off to Australia, I give you my life. And I need new stuff to obsess on. Mei, you know me like to obsess on stuff. Kat, let's dance. Aisyah and Esah, where the hell are you guys?

Feel free to listen to The Manchis on MySpace. Support our local band! (I can't believe I just said that) Hell. Google or search the band on MySpace. Do what you need to do. I tell you, it's beautiful melody and husky voice. I like.

We need more challenges and random stuff to spice things up.

[Off to bed]

I swear..

I am not obsessed with Michael Cera. I don't want to be. I am just a fan.

I get the Polaroid next month. Ready. Set. Scream. I am stoked. Finally. Even if I don't get a DSLR (not that I still want one). It will do me justice. No name ideas for it yet. My dad considers a new guitar. I agree. He says Yamaha. I also agree. Whatever he fancies. I just want a folk guitar. I want to start playing. It's been delayed for a long time.

This weeks topic: Eclipse!
Not the Stephanie Meyer Vampire series. No, no, no. Today (26th jan) at 5pm, Kuala Lumpur will experience an actual Eclipse! Holy cow. It's been an ambition of mine when I was younger to actually experience an Eclipse. I use to stare at my science book. Hoping an eclipse would happen. Funny when you're younger. Big ambitions. They eventually get crushed. Hmm

This week's music suggestion: Kinagrannis. She should be founded or something. I love her covers in Youtube. She's also so pretty. Talented people make me jealous. I really like cover of Eisley's Trolleywood.

Have a great Chinese New Year everyone! Drive safe on your way home.

Love, Mei Monday's.

saturdays for favour :D

The Aisyah's. Where have you two been? Punishments (?) Please girls, if you can't post inform of us so we can stand it for you via the admin account called The Jrnl. No more missed postings!

Hello weekends. I am this weeks weekend eater. As Aisyah P had suggested, weekends as a free day. Any writer can post. I'm just randomly rambling for today.

Today: Went out to try to find some goods. Plain hoodies. I need more. I might consider the Grey-Michael-Cera-esque in FOS. Damn. Fits me nicely. I still have Red, SeaGreen, DarkBlue to find. Did I mention I really like Michael Cera? :D Saw a pair of black converse-like shoes. Purdy D: I want. Looks like Keyboard fund has to be put on hold.

CNY IS NEXT WEEK!
I'm stoked. I'm going down to Thailand&Penang. Hopefully I can find some hoodies there. I leave on the 27th.

Oh oh, I'm going to Jason Mraz. Got my ticket today. Counter guys are so funny. They told me I'm a good customer. As I brought them exact fare. I'm a nice customer.
Have a great weekend readers!

Mei Monday's turned Saturday's. haha

blank?

11 points for blank-ness. Hurrah for Khadijah! Alright, I'm crapping.
Right-o. Today is Fridayyyyyyyy. Hello internet, and internet aliens. I've missed you! So well...I see that our two Aisyah's have to be punished for not posting. Oh well, I don't have any ideas on how to punish them. Brain has been fried after countless atempts at high jump and also endless question answering during Maths tuition. Boohoo.

Anyway, le journal seems a bit dry. Hmmm, maybe its because we're all so busy nowadays. And premiere test of Section 5 for the year 2009 is happening in three weeks or so. Sports day is in a month's time, cross country is right after the test. What else.......nada.

um um um

I'm bored. I want to talk to someone, but seems as though no one is online. I want to text someone, but dad isn't allowing me to use his phone. My left thigh is aching and my left ankle nearly got sprained and I don't really feel like going for French class. GREAT -.-;

Cheers, Khadijah.

Random Tuesday:

Tuesday is Random Tuesday.

Why?

I cheered for our netball team. I am high. I high, a lot. I did Chemistry homework and skip recess and manage to finish 'em all. I am random? Am I? What? Am I questioning you? Am I? (Okay.. Snap it Zara!)

Everything mixed up. My mother told me not to be sensitive. She said she missed me and wanted to come back here during my next holiday but I disagree. I would not want her to see me in this situation; where I am still confuse with my life.

Dot. Dot. Dot.

Seriously.. Today is a boring day. Another load of homework given. My evening fitness ain't working due to late arriving home. Curse words ain't be using for a long time. I work, work, glimpse and work. Stayback offers is not going to be an optional anymore. I. Have. To. Stayback. After. School. Workload increases.

Also, I passed my Additional Mathematics! And I darn scored my Modern Mathematics. Friday schedule in line-- Parents teacher sort-ish meeting-ish. Ish-stopping. I'm having a short break next week but chores is listed up! Parents going strict ain't a fun thing. Goin' to paint me room; not yet decided on the colour. Olive Green? Grey-ish? Blood Red? Okay, just joking. Please, help me!

Girls, how was your day(as in today)? Leave me a comment.

Relax, ku-ku-ku-choo.

Good job girls! I enjoyed your Boomdeyada challenge responds. Blew me away. We probably should do a Traveling Journal version. Add more choruses! Zara and Aisyah H can play the guitars. Dijah on the piano. Esah can sing. And I.. can bang on pots and pans... Haha. I am music talent negative.

Behold, my neighbour and most annoying person: Nadeem RafiqHe might not be my jump-over-your-fence neighbour. But we live in the same town. Wonderful Wangsa Maju. Known him since he was 11. I was 12. Annoyed me then. Annoyed me now. He: Doesn't get when people are serious. Gets on your nerves. Has a very good looking younger brother. Still, a solid guy. I know it's not the recent photo but exceptions Dijah! My camera needs ICU. Hahaha.

Today, I write you a band/singer review. I'll do this every Monday of the 3rd week. Recent band I'm into: ALPHABEATS.
photo via flickr
Alphabeats: Danish Pop band. Very The Ting Ting's. I prefer Alphabeat more.
Their album This Is Alphabeat starts with The Fantastic Six. Synthesizers & 80's retro feel. Follow up, Fascination. Drum beats. And duo harmony. Which the band is very good at. Although I didn't really enjoy how some of their sounds are too repeative. Otherwise, they're solid. You should sample: What Is Happening, Ten Thousand Nights of Thunder & Boyfriend. Their videos are equally as creative. Personal favourites: What Is Happening & Boyfriend.

Listen if you enjoy: The Ting Ting's, The Kills, 80's inspired music.

Mei Monday's.

Why oh why?

I have exactly 4 minutes to do this post. Due to the internet restrictions which is pretty much saddening. First few weeks of school were not that great to tell the truth. Homeworks everyday. School works are corrupting thy brain and such. So, I won't be having a good year this year. Well, I hope it will improve!

Oh yeaaaaaah! Mei's challenge! Here it goes..

There's my version! And sorry Ja, my neighbour are seriously not sporting enough. I rarely interact with them anyways. Really really sorry. Do I have to face the consequences? D:

I have school tomorrow. Please don't make me collapse in the middle of nowhere!

one, two, tiga, GO!

I owe everyone an apology. I haven't done my homework, the picture with the neighbour and watched the telly to know exactly how 'I Love The World' song sounds like. so I'm sorry.

I've been really really extremely busy with school. okay it's like this for this week ; I wake up at 6, go to school, go back home at around 2, go out again for Basketball at 3 and back home at 7 and then I'll have a sleeping difficulty, so I usually sleep at 1 or 2 and wake up again at 6. it sounds ..... fast? I don't know. it's actually dreadful. from the insomnia, I get empty stomach and then I get the anxiety thing. or should I say anxious? it's like how I feel everytime before a Basketball match, or before the gun shot before I run.
so, empty stomach + anxiety = head ache. but thank God, I don't fall asleep in class. phew!
maybe it's going to be like this for weeks, maybe even until March. who knows.

so all I have is, a story. hahhhhhhh

ok, I met this guy. he's like so cute he looks like he's actually a cartoon character.
he ; is outrageously polite for a guy, is amazingly good at Basketball, works for a really long period of time and abandoned his studies just so he could support his family, sings and compose songs (and I've heard his stuff. ee omg best oo!), doesn't wait until three days to call a girl, is truthfully straightforward but he's still really really polite, not rude at all, is SO different from ANYONE I've ever met. especially that -and plus- he's a guy.

so yeah, this guy has really inspired me. inspired, and made me think. like, a lot of things. so I guess he influenced me a lot but he didn't even realise it. so yeah anyway I'm just saying this for me. yeah, it's not like you guys can get anything from reading this post. so, nevermind. I think I'm hyper again due to lack of sleep. I think I'm going to bed, right now, at 9 pm. yes, that sounds great.

see you. loves, aisyahpahmi.

I'm not saying...

...that I'm busy. No, I am not.

Wait, who am I kidding? I am busy. I just don't want to get too excited for the busy-ness I'm getting. Har har. I think I'll make a list of what I've been up to:

1. Netball Training.
2. Homework & assignments (cliche much?)
3. Phone calls and The Internetz
4. Diagnostic Test (say what?)
5. Fitness Jog/Exercises in evening.

Oh well, I'm just fully packed mostly. Ask Mei if you don't believe me. Twice I blew her off on Yahoo! Messenger. Sorry Mei, I'll make up this weekend probably. And Kat too, we need to talk! majorly! *miahaha* Good news: I finished Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone in one week! I am a dork, ain't I? Yes. Moving on to the second book; Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Also, the challenges will be done by this weekend. Hoping so! (P.S. Did you guys check the draft Esah left for us? Do check. Like now.)

Going offline. Hot bath and school books awaits!

boomdeyadaa

Don't you just love the whole world? For one, I do.

Inspiration: Discovery Channel's The World is just... Awesome campaign. A catchy song with very cute visuals. Watched it on the telly and instantly made me smile. For a minute, take a second. Think. Don't you just love the whole world? Different cultures. All the colours. All together, here. On Earth.

So in the spirit of it, I wrote my own version :D So this is my challenge for the rest of the girls, no punishment though. All about fun! Write your very own version of I Love The Whole World lyrics. Here's the video of the advertisement.
Go on Zara, Aisyah P, Aisyah H & Khadijah! Write your own I Love The Whole World song.
I love ice cream,
I love autumn seasons,
I love journals,
I love the blue sky,
I love the whole world,
and all it's sights and sounds
Boomdeyada, Boomdeyada, Boomdeyada, Boomdeyada
I love cameras,
I love the sunshine,
I love IKEA,
I love indie movies,
I love the whole world
and all it's craziness
Boomdeyada, Boomdeyada, Boomdeyada, Boomdeyada
I love converse shoes,
I love this blog so much,
I love kipling bags,
I love Micheal Cera,
I love the whole world,
Its such a brilliant place
Boomdeyada, Boomdeyada, Boomdeyada, Boomdeyada
Boomdeyada, Boomdeyada, Boomdeyada, Boomdeyada
Boomdeyada, Boomdeyada, Boomdeyada.
Have fun!

brain-fried

Ho ho, finally its Friday. Hello people :D

Okay, so I was thinking of challenging the travelling journal family. But well, I have no idea. Absolutely nada. My brain is fried after doing, I don't know, a load of work just now? Haha. God-knows. And I still need to clean up my room seeing as my dad is getting the whole house repainted.

PING!
I have this brilliant idea! I challenge you, Mei; Zara; Esah; and Aisyah, to take a picture with your neighbour. I don't really mind whoever it is but maybe even better if its someone you stalk or someone who oftenly annoys you. If you don't do this in your next postings, I shall punish you by.............making you buy me sushi? Haha. Nah. Maybe not. I'll come up with the punishment later on.

Cheers, Khadijah.

...

so that's me, about 8 years back.

HELLO! I'm Aisyah Pahmi. I am fifteen this year and I play Basketball. I also bake. and I too cry watching Grey's Anatomy. I am probably the bimbo-est and shortest out of the group. and I umm, have no idea what to say anymore. heh :P

I should write something about, .... anything?

okay here goes ;
I am in 3 Azam this year, the first class in my school, which is sort of a bummer for me. well see, I'm a girl, girls are like, always hardworking aren't they? but I guess I take after my brother too much. I hate studying, I don't do homeworks and I play hard. that makes me the only girl that always stand with the boys in the class when all the others pass up their works. so sometimes I feel like I don't deserve to be in the first class. and that I don't think I can put up with the Chineses always stuffing their face in books, also sometimes that, hey, I want to be the top in the class too what? well I probably just should look on the bright side, this year's class has four fans!

maybe I'll be more interesting next week. see ya!

loves, Aisyah Pahmi.

The Ultimate Machine.

Oi. That's me.

My mind went blank when I tried to think about what to post. Certainly, I would like to talk about me new year's week. It's been a week since ever new year! Hell, lots have been going on. Most, not so kind words shall be unsaid.

What's going on this week: Monday! The 5th of January, Molly Zara (my EOS 400D) is finally one year old! Happy first ever birthday, little one. Picture will be uploaded. Instead (can't wait no longer), here she is! (and me holding it).

This past two days, I've been stationery shopping. Yes, I am a lazy late bum. I don't do school shopping trip before schools open. I do after, which is good (for me at least). Anyways, got into classes. Met/made new friends. First day-- Homework upload. Hooray me! Not. My former class teacher might be transferred. Hoping she will(my oh my). Also, I bought 4 Post-it notes/notas in different shape and colour. I scored big. Headache and utter confusion involve when I got home from school. Can't explain why.

By the way, I did not even introduce myself. Here goes nothing! I'm a huge fan of High School Musicals! I am impossibly in love with Zac Efron. Also, possibly named Zara Suhaimee. Not yet seventeen, going to be one. Going to sit for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia this year. I'm living in Kajang/Bangi. My mother doesn't live with me, for your information. Father's in charge of everything. I have five siblings-- Two big brothers, one half-sister and one half-small brother. Whatever half means. I made resolutions this year and trying to keep 'em for the first time ever. I have babies, Tommy Zara (polaroid), Molly Zara (EOS 400D) and Mary Zara (Ultimate Keyboard). I still have one baby that have no name, will be named soon! I watched way many movies. I have collections of Pokemon deck card. I adore Charlie McDonnell. YouTube is my best friend (sort of). I draw and doodle. I'm in attempt on doing some art this year. I have a best friend named, afz. Finally, I prefer Twilight the book version better.

Also, I read all of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga and in love with her ultimate vision in writing. Now, I'm in the middle of Harry Potter marathon. One of my resolutions, of course. Wish me luck.

I should be doing my homework. Sort-ish of homework, I would say. Need to keep up my grades. School is now my first priority and of course the Internet. I can't be separated from the Internet, I'd die (kidding). But.. Internet me mixed.

Am I too late to wish you a merry new year?

Happy Effin' New Year, the journal buddies.

[ZARA SUHAIMEE is reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.]

Mondays are Mei's :D

I have about 15mins or so to write this post. Okay, no, I actually have a lot of time. However, I am also in amidst of cleaning my very dusty room! *achoo*

Hello dear readers. I'm Mei. Born: Lee Mei Ying. Often being called as: Mei/Mei Ying/Meuy/etc. I am the eldest of the bunch (probably fattest too). I'm a high school graduate who's due for National Service in March. I write every Monday. So Mei Mondays, eyy? Haha. I'm a self claimed minority. And I don't really know how to write self biographies. Heh.

So Khadijah wrote about school. And I'm out of school, for now. Aisyah H wrote about the new year and fresh starts. I? I'm going to write about Resolutions! So, here we go:

Without the lists of things you wish to change. There is no Fresh Start. Resolutions are often taken as elaborate and extreme change. Not possible to change over night. Heard of old habits die hard? Precisely. As hard as it is to list down the flaws we don't want to face. It's harder to keep them. I made a list last year. Content: Accepting my faults, Don't judge anyone, etc. Sounds simple. Simple to write. Not so simple to follow. How do I know that resolutions are hard to keep? I ended up struggling with the list. Alas, I achieved many after a few months of getting use to it. My point is: Keep your resolutions simple. Work small then aim for big. Petty flaws: I will pick up my things more often, I'm going to smile at my co-workers more often. From there you pick up pace and know where to start.

Apart from simple: BE PRECISE. Don't write whatever you think is suitable. Eg: I will not swear this year. What I should have written? I should swear less this year. I already broke it on the 1st of January 2009. So, there living proof. Resolutions are suppose to make you better. Make them suitable for you. Write down a few things you want change, pick one's that you'll know you can achieve without killing yourself too much (NO PAIN NO GAIN!) Best of luck & Happy Resolution Making readers!

See you next Monday!
(I'm sorry that if this post is shitz but I am lacking ideas. I'll make it up next monday, I promise!)

Mei xx.

of school and introductions

Golly. Finally after a month of planning avec les autres-with the rest-the blog/journal is finally up and ready to be written in! Wow. I'm excited! You know, during the first planning with Zara and Mei, I secretly daydreamed that The Travelling Journal will be a famous blog read by thousands, maybe millions of people on the net. Yeah, I know, "How pathetic of Khadijah to daydream so". But well, I can daydream right? *wink wink*

Anyway......I am Khadijah. Approaching fifteen, an avid daydreamer and one who rambles in imperfect French. I enjoy writing, playing the piano and guitar, drawing and taking photographs. I won't say anything anymore of me because I can go on forever-and, I assure you, you wouldn't want me to do that.

So, seeing as Aisyah has written about fresh changes, I shall have to find something else to write. And so 8 minutes pass as Khadijah scans for a song to listen to and she picks Beirut.

Okay, seeing as school is starting next Monday I thought I'd just, I don't know, talk about it? Haha. Well, as of now I'm sure parents are franticing to buy us our school uniforms, shoes and the whole load of shebang. But well, after the shebang, best friends meet and dish out their holiday stories and enemies meet only to tear each other's eyes out of their sockets. At the end of the day, its the same story: piles of homework, missing pens and another round of school the next day. Isn't school fun? NOT. Lol.

So, I guess I've written enough. See you next week, and for those of you who are still in shcool, may your school year start of with a blast!P.S. svians, I look forward to meeting you next week. And, bon weekend! I think you know what that means ;D

Cheers, Khadijah.

010109

A fresh start of a new year.

We will change someday. Maybe change into a replica of one of your greatest rival. Maybe change into your best friend or change into a person that you do not know at all-- a whole new person. Are we looking forward for some changes? Some say they do. Some say they don't. There are a lot of pros and cons toward changes. We'll just have to wait and see. Observe it by our self.

So, here it is. The first post for the The Travelling Journal 2009. The blogging project we've been forward to be reading and seeing. The blog that will show how people of different ages, different backgrounds in different places live and have their day. It could also be a place where we could share our thoughts, some random facts, jokes, some things we've learned throughout our life. Or it could be just some pictures that we find fascinating or intriguing. And I'm here to blurt my mind out.
